Instead of using sprays or plug-in products we've been using soy candles that are scented using essential oils. These candles smell amazing, just removing the lid of some of our candles freshens up the room.
Over behind the barn we have a garden. It's not a very big garden but we're working on it. Hopefully with more planning we'll have more variety and seasonal vegetables.
Except for the occassional macaroni and cheese we have pretty much cut packaged food out of our diet. That stuff just isn't good for you and when I actually sit and taste my food, it doesn't taste that good either. Fresh food is so much better,so ditch the boxed food. You can make all your favorite boxed meals from fresh ingredients, so tastey!
No more plastic shopping bags for us! We use the fabric bags, we have about 10. I'll admit, we haven't remembered them every time but most of the time we have them. We've run into a few problems when using them but mostly they work out just fine. They hold much more than a standard plastic grocery bag so it's less you have to carry in the house. Now, when you pack these bags they can get heavy but are still much easier to use, and MUCH better for the environment.P.s. the bag in the image, I made it!
No more plastic produce bags! I'm happy to say that I have cloth bags for my produce. I saw them online and just had to have them. They're great to have, even the bagger at the grocery store was impressed with my find. The added weight may be a concern for some of you but don't worry, they don't actually weigh all that much. Each bag weighs about .032 lbs. Not so bad, really.
